Visibility was mostly clear and winds from the East-North-East or North-East all day. Wind speed was 0-10MPH. Raptor Observations: For early in the season a good movement of Broad-winged Hawks was going in the 10-11am hour. Then after that they slowed down for the rest of the day. For that hour 205 were counted. Most being in two different kettles. A total of 288 for the day were counted of that species. 83 Sharp-shinned Hawks were counted in the 2nd last hour with a total for that hour being at 29. Non-raptor Observations: No other small-land or other birds were really around at all. Since we are in the same basic weather system that we have been for about a week or two now. Predictions: The weather for Saturday looks about the same as the past few days. Might get more North-North-East winds then East-North-East. Should be a good day...one more day into the season should be better then the day before...But still need a good front to come in... ======================================================================== Report submitted by Seth Cutright ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
