Hi Birders,
We spent tree days at Pinery, starting on the 7th of September.
We saw fourteen Warbler species and two Vireo species sixty species
altogether.
We also saw a female Scarlet Tanager and female (or juvenile) Rose-breasted
Grosbeak.
All of these birds were seen right at our campsite. Riverside Park
campground, site No. 486.
At the Riverside Trailwe saw a Pileated Woodpecker and a fishing Juvenile
Osprey as well as four Sharp-shinned Hawks, probably in migration.
Just before we got to the park, we came across about ten American Kestrels,
hunting above the fields.
The best bird for me was an Olive-sided Flycatcher that I haven't seen for a
long time.
Lot of juvenile and adult Red-headed Woodpeckers were hanging around at the
burned forest, towards Burley Bride.
Great birding.
