Today at 9:00am there were good numbers of shorebirds on the beaches. Dunlin 
numbers top 2000 birds with numbers building. Smaller numbers of other 
shorebirds are also being seen. 2 Whimbrel on bar at owen.pt, 75+ plus 
semipalmated plovers, least and semipalmated sandpipers. 10 short-billed 
dowitchers, 3 black-bellied plovers, killdeer, white-rumped,sanderling and 
ruddy turnstones.

There were also 200 dunlin on salt pt and numerous shorebirds on gull island 
not counted yet.

The park is restricting access to the back of the beaches where the path 
entrances meet the beach.

To reach Presqu'ile Provincial Park, follow the signs from Brighton. 
Locations within the Park are shown on a map at the back of a tabloid 
that is available at the Park gate.  Access to the offshore islands is 
restricted at this time of year to prevent disturbance to the colonial 
nesting birds there.
