Hello birdwatcher:
?Today at the Toronto Island Bird quest, sponsored by the T.O.C., some 55 
participants were very enthusiastic and grateful for the birds that we saw- 
total species count is116.

Highlights:

Whimbrel - 1 on the beach, west of 'nudist' colony ( other shorebird: Least 
Sandpipers (3),? Dunlins ( 20 ), Spotted Sandpipers ( 8).

Warblers: ( 24 species in 8 hours of walking) 
Blackpoll (2), Mourning (2), Wilson's (3),Cape May( many males & females), 
Bay-breasted, Canada (3), Parula(6), Tennesse, Blackburnian, Pine, Nashville, 
Black-throated Blue, 
Black-throated Green, Magnolia, Black-and-white, Common Yellow-throat, 
Ovenbird, Yellow, Northern Waterthrush, Palm, Chestnut-sided, Redstart, & 
Yellow-rumped, Orange-crowned (heard)
Wrens: Carolina ( 1 singing loudly in Sanctuary) & House 
Thrushes: Gray-cheeked (3),? Wood?(2), Swainson's ( many), Hermit (1), Veery, 
Robin
Vireos: Red-eyed, Blue-headed, Warbling
Flycatchers-?Willow, Yellow-bellied, Least, Great-crested, Eastern Wood-pewee, 
Eastern Phoebe, Eastern Kingbird
Woodpeckers: Hairy,Downy, Flicker,
Sparrows: Lincoln, Field, Swamp, White-crowned, White-throated, Song, 
Chipping,?Savannah [ Apparently Norm Murr had a Clay-coloured?Sparrow. Nobody 
in our group had it).
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Brown-thrasher, N. Mockingbird, RB Grosbeaks, Scarlet 
Tanagers, Indigo Buntings, E. Towhee,? RT Hummingbird, Kingfisher, WB 
Nuthatches, N. Orioles, GC & RC Kinglets, Brown Creeper,House Finch,?etc.
Waterbirds: C. Loon, Horned Grebe, WW Scoter, Hooded & RB Mergansers, 
Canvasback, Buffleheads,? Black-crowned Night-Herom, GB Heron, etc.
