A white phase Gyrfalcon has been seen along the south shore of Amherst Island both yesterday and today. It could be the same bird that was on Wolfe Island earlier this year but that bird hasn't been reported since March 14th. Amherst Island is reached by ferry from the village of Millhaven west of Kingston. Take exit 593 off the 401 and drive to the south end of county road 4. Turn right, cross the bridge and the ferry dock is on your left. The ferry leaves Millhaven on the half hour and returns on the hour. The return trip is $8.00 per car.
