A couple of things of note -
Burloak Park in Burlington seems to be getting more interesting with
time. Where there used to be only Mallards and Canada Geese, we now
have mostly Mergansers and Long-tails and not a mallard to be seen
anyway. On the other hand, there are some 'cuties' like the immature
Horned Grebe and the White-winged Scoter shown in the link below.

I will add images to this folder as I get more shots, the rule being
that all shots must be taken in the park or of water fowl just off-
shore.
On the Red-necked Grebe Tire Nest Issue, I got no objections and some
encouragement, so the next step is to get a wheel. So here is the
request. Is any one out there willing to donate an old tire and rim to
the cause? Bald is fine, but it must be inflated and likely to stay so
until the fall at least. I was surprised when I checked old pictures
of the young to find that they need to be hatched on the parents backs
by early July. If we do get high water levels this year, getting
babies to that stage by early July will definitely be a problem.
