A very large flock of Common Redpolls was observed this afternoon visiting backyard feeders in Owen Sound. An ultra - conservative estimate is 250 birds, but that number could easily be much higher. The largest flock of Redpolls I have ever seen. Birds were swirling to and from nearby trees on to a niger feeder, platform feeders and the ground. Quite a remarkable sight.
Later in the day less than 10 Redpolls were at the same location.
