I found the Western Grebe at the eastern most point of Ashbridges Bay at 12:05 p.m. It seemed to be exactly where Cheryl had it before 9:00 a.m.
Look southeast off the southeast point, which is southeast of the washrooms(closed) and the east again of the second picnic area south of Woodbine Beach. It is very difficult to see due to the choppy water and the fact that it is over 200 m off shore. Look for the white cheeks and the black strip of feathers down the back of its neck. It was sleeping, but raised its head from time to time. There were many Long-tails around to add to the challenge in the rough waters. Directions: Ashbridges Bay/Woodbine Beach Park is at the base of Coxwell Ave south of Lakeshore Blvd. East of the DVP and Leslie St. Spit.
