Have had up to 75 Pine Siskins visiting our feeder during the past 3 weeks.
Occasionally a couple of Common Redpolls joined then. To-day, Feb. 5th, about
50 Pine Siskins, accompanied by 10 Common Redpolls and surprisingly, 5 Hoary
Rdepolls.

In addition, daily visits by 2 Downey Woodpeckers both females, no males
this year, Northern Cardinal, D.E. Juncos, Am. Tree Sparrows, Am Goldfinch.

Also, daily visits from a Sharp-Shinned Hawk, which results in a fast
scattering and an absence of birds for a half an hour or so.

The first Pine Siskins we saw this year, 5, were immediately reduced to 4 as
a Sharp-Shinned Hawk flew in and caught one and started to eat it on the
fence. Since then the high numbers reported above.
