Hello All, Last night (January 18th @ ~20:45) when walking along a side road through Torbolton forest in constance bay I was whistling for N. Saw whet owls when I had a BOREAL OWL fly across the road and land in a large red pine. The bird stayed in the tree and allowed me to get really good looks to confirm identity. I went back this morning to look for it to no avail, but did spot a LONG EARED OWL in the bush nearby roosting in another red pine. The forest is dominantly semi-mature pine plantation interspersed with other forest types, probably worth a search for other owls as well. There has also been at least 2 SNOWY OWLS in the general area just west of constance bay along Galetta side road. Last seen on Saturday January the 17th. I haven't noticed these birds on any recent reports so figured they were worth mentioning. Take Care, Fergus Boreal Owl/Long Eared Owl >From Ottawa take the March/Eagleson road exit north, follow march road north >of Kanata around the bend to Dunrobin road.
