Birded the Jack Pine Trail in the Stony Swamp Cons. Area west of Ottawa yesterday (Jan. 17).
Usual suspects were present at the feeders (White- and Red-breasted Nuthatches, Chickadees, Hairy Woodpeckers, and puffy Blue Jays). There was also a single Dark Eyed Junco at the second feeder, a very active Pileated Woodpecker deeper in the woods and the highlight of a nice Barred Owl showing great interest in a red squirrel at the first feeder.
