The CP CBC took place on Decemebr 27, a day that started out with very icy roads and ended with heavy rain and +7C temperatures. There were 31 observers and over 20 feeder counts throughout the area. There were 48 species, up from 42 last year and a total of 5000+ birds which is almost exactly the same as last year.

It was a great year for White-winged Crossbills(54), Bohemian Waxwings(135) and Pine Grosbeaks(87). Other highlights included two male Red-Breasted Mergansers and 1 Winter Wren.

Other high numbers were 1000 Chickadees, 176 Turkeys, 61 Goldeneye, and 660 Goldfinch.

Thx to all the volunteers

Happy New Year to All and Great Birding in 2009!
