The Great Grey Owl was seen again late this afternoon between about 4 and 4:30. We were tipped off by two birders who'd walked east along the frozen creek that crosses the chemin de la Sapinière and found it about 500 metres in. Apparently the bird was also visible from the road but must have been very distant. The creek was firm in the middle but dicey along the edges, where a couple of people went through and got soakers. Walking along the creek may become impossible with the mild weather predicted for this weekend. Although we didn't notice any "No Trespassing" signs and were told it was Crown land, in hindsight we can't really be totally sure of this, so trespassing may be an issue.
Directions: Take the 148 west from Gatineau to Luskville and turn left on chemin des Pères Dominicains. Chemin de la Sapinière is the second left. The owl was on the left side of de la Sapinière.
