Hello Birders.
I apologise for the late posting. My results are incomplete because one person who is a relatively new birder was asked to give me a report but seems to have posted it by surface mail?
  Rant over!

The NW gales sweep the passerines away and the deep snows cover all the fields at present. That affects the numbers of 'field birds' such as Horned Larks and Snow Buntings which leave. A small remnant can only get food at roadsides.

So far we had a total of 65 species. A bit low but excellent for the conditions related to our cold Fall. Specialities were-- BLACK DUCK, MERLIN, WILD TURKEY, RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, 23 RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS, 1 PILEATED-low. 23 TUFTED TITMICE, 1 CAROLINA WREN, 4323 STARLINGS. 2 CHIPPING SPARROWS, 2 WHITE-THROATS and 4 WHITE -CROWNED SPARROWS. 42 TREE SPARROWS-low. 1 FOX SPARROW at Hungry Hollow. 12 PURPLE FINCHES, 16 COMMON REDPOLLS and a lone PINE SISKIN. Count week birds were so far--A BLACK DUCK, 2 KING EIDERS and at Hungry Hollow an adult GOLDEN EAGLE circling over head. Snow depth about 15 inches. 40Cm. Minus 16C early morning, up to about -7c by mid afternoon. Brisk East winds. My thanks to The Pinery Provincial Park hosted our "count down" and the Friends Of Pinery Park donated a most welcome chilli and warm coffee.

Also to Pete Chapman who verified the results and to Everyone who attended and helped during the day.

Good Birding and Merry Christmas.
Alf.
