As we gear up for our Christmas Bird Count, there are a few interesting birds hanging about in our area. Three Bald Eagles are cruising aroung Cook's Bay and yesterday there were 2 Common Ravens near DeGrassi Point. That would be a new bird for our count. A Great Blue Heron is eking out its existence along the Creek at Scanlon Creek Cons. Area and there are at least five Red-bellied Woodpeckers showing up at various feeders just north of Bradford. Finally, the numbers of Common Goldeneye and Common Mergansers in the open leads on Cook's Bay are phenomenal...perhaps in the thousands yesterday. Bradford is north on Highway 400. Exit at County Rd. 88 and go east to Hwy. 11. Turn north and drive to County Rd. 89. Turn right and continue to the 20th SR of Innisfil. Turn north and go to the 3rd Line. Turn right and scan along the road to the end near the lake.
