A heavily-barred Snowy Owl was preening in a field on Yonge St. south of Ravenshoe Rd. around 1:30 this afternoon.

There were two flocks of Snow Buntings, of around 10 and 40 birds respectively, a handful of tree sparrows and a non-male Harrier in the same general area.

From the corner of Leslie St. and Ravenshoe Rd. proceed west on Ravenshoe to where it meets the dead-end stub of Yonge St. at a T intersection. Turn left (south) and drive almost to the end, past the last shed. The bird was on the east side, in the snow covered field. It was five spans, so to speak, from the south end of the irrigator, and well back in the field.
