Weather:
Today was more or less a carbon copy of the day before with sunny,
essentially cloudless skies. Winds were moderate southwest bearing to
west-southwest in the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
Although conditions were very much similar to yesterday, the flight was
noticeably different, most notably in regards to the Golden Eagle flight.
While the previous day’s birds were well to the north, most of the eagles
today were overhead or nearly so. In fact this is one of the best days in
some time in terms of numbers and views of the birds. Seven eagles alone
were seen in the 2-3 hour (1-2 EST) with most of these giving spectacular
views as they came by the watch one after the other. All those assembled
agreed that this was a rare and most enjoyable day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Small numbers (1s and 2s) of Pine Siskins have been migrating by the watch
for awhile now but the last few days have seen some larger groups go by,
some with a couple dozen birds. Horned Larks were another numerous
passerine migrant today along with continued good movement of blackbirds
(lesser numbers than yesterday).
