THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE REPORT. It was b-b-bitterly c-c-cold (4c, strong NW winds) all morning and into the afternoon. The wind direction and strength was ideal for hawks to fly along the waterfront, BUT the BP was dropping, and the thermals were not great. Many of us struggled, camaraderie and some good passerines keeping us alert.
Good birds--30 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, SEVERAL PINE SISKINS, a few RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, PURPLE FINCH, HOUSE FINCH , TREE SPARROW. WILSON'S SNIPE; Bufflehead on the lake; on the wetland waters-gadwall, pintail, shoveler, green-winged teal, Am.wigeons,-------- Up to 1330EST---4Turkey vultures, 3 Northern Harrier, 5 Sharp-shinned, 1 Cooper's, 1 red-shouldered, 67 Red-taileds, 4 Rough-leggeds, 4 AM.Kestrel, 3 GOLDEN EAGLES (ALL IMM.), 2 unidentifieds.
