Visitors:
Among our regular crew of folks today were those that came up from Ohio as
part of the Lake Erie Raptor Symposium sponsored by the Ohio Ornithological
Society. Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves even if the weather and
hawks werent altogether cooperative.
Weather:
There was very poor visibility early in the day today with fog and cloud
burning off very slowly during the morning to reveal a mostly sunny day.
Winds were quite variable but generally light north-northeast in the
morning becoming more due east in the afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
Not surprisingly, it took some time for birds to pick up with little moving
before mid morning. Migration overall was a bit sporadic but there a very
nice push of TVs later in the afternoon highlighted by a single group of
about 130 birds.
