While practicing golf at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, site
of the CDN Open 2 weeks ago. I often see a Redtailed Hawk family
cruising around in 'the valley' (holes 11-15) however yesterday I was
surprised to see an Osprey circling the pond fronting the 9th green. It
was a fairly large one, having seen Ospreys a number of times in the St.
Lawrence River and on vacation in South Carolina. Quite odd. I've
played this course 100 times and have never seen an Osprey there, or
anywhere in Oakville. There's a tree on the west side of the pond with
bare branches at the top that he/she eventually settled down in to watch
over the pond. The bird was there for a full 90 minutes till I left.
