Several folks have asked what happened with my nesting Cooper's Hawks.

The pair of Cooper's Hawks that nested near my backyard this spring pulled it
off! At least two young fledged on July 29th. A couple of days later, both
adults and one young bird seemed to have moved off to hunt elsewhere. The
remaining young plaintively calls for its sibling each evening but in the
interim flies about the neighbourhood chasing anything and everything and
generally wreaking havoc amongst the local birds. My peaceful yard is no longer
- at least until junior moves on!
