Hello Everyone,
I was at the Bill Mason Nature Centre this evening, birding was great. I spent my time watching from the board walk, looking over the largest open area of the marsh. There were different sizes of juvenile Virginia Rails, along with adults, maybe a dozen birds. An adult Sora walk onto the boardwalk, five feet from me and posed for pictures, it spent a couple of minutes strutting about before it went back into the marsh. Wilson's Snipe were flying about, I had four of them, probably a family, probing the small Lily pads 20 feet away, they were still there when I left. Cheers, Brian Young Directions; Bill Mason Nature Centre is on the Dunrobin Road, approx. 1 km west of Thomas Dolan, entrance is on the right-hand side. Turn in at the school and bare right, this will take you to a parking lot. Dunrobin Road can be reached from March Road, via the Ottawa Queensway. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
