Yesterday we did a drive around Pelee Island and totalled 31 species in about three hours. There are good populations of Purple Martins on the island and we saw a number of Chimney Swifts at West Dock. Numerous Indigo Buntings were also spotted

The highlight of the day was seeing six Great Egrets in the second field on Curry Dike Road north of Dick's Marina on the south side of the island. There were a couple of Great Blue Herons in the group as well.

Pelee Island can be reached by ferry from Leamington (until August) and Kingsville (after August 1). Schedules can be found here
