Birding Ottawa this morning with Tony Beck brought our group sightings of a
few good birds.
From the dyke at Shirley's Bay we watched two adult ARTIC TERN.
The shorebird habitat on March Valley Road at the corner of Klondike Road
had
seven species of shorebirds including one WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER.
A check of the gulls at Burnside Pit on Moodie Drive revealed one adult
GLAUCOUS GULL
in with the many other birds present there.
And at Andrew Hayden Park on the lawn near the ornamental windmill we
observed one lone BRANT that had an
abnormal growth on the right side of its head.
