The Yellow-headed Blackbird made an appearance as we reached the sighting board at the parking lot (ready to leave) at 1:55 this afternoon. It flew in silently and stayed on a branch for less than a minute and then disappeared. Banding station staff had warned us that this one is unpredictable so thanks to Angie who kept her eyes open and spotted it on the fly.
Directions: from Simcoe take 24 south and west at the bend. Go left on 59 and folow this right through the causeway when you reach the water and keep following this road as it bends left before you dirive into Lake Erie for a couple more km. Go left on Old Cut Road and you'll see the parking area. You can't go more than two blocks before you're in the lake if you miss your left turn. Need more info? Feel free to email or call the number.
