Good morning,

The annual OFO trip to Prince Edward Point is scheduled for this Sunday, May
04, 2008. Due to an increasing weekend work load, this will be the final year
in which I will offer this trip, so if you have not experienced the pleasure of
birding this amazing area in Prince Edward County, plan to do so this year. We
will be meeting at 7:00 a.m. and spending the day birding the Prince Edward
Point area for waterfowl and early May migrants. Several species of warblers
are already present, so the birding should be good.

DIRECTIONS: Take any of the exits off 401 for Prince Edward County and follow
to Picton. At the far east end of Picton, where Highways 33 and 49 converge at
the Stop sign, turn down the big hill (Bridge Street) and turn immediately
right at the bottom of the hill onto Union Street (across from Tip of the Bay).
Follow Union Street out of Picton (becomes County Road 8) for 2.5 km, and turn
right on County Road 17. Follow County Road 17 for 6.5 km and look for the
Black River Cheese sign, and turn left onto County Road 6 and follow for 1 km
to the Stop sign at County Road 13. Follow County Road 13 past Black River
Cheese for 23.6 km to the Prince Edward Point National Wildlife Area (County
Road 13 eventually becomes Long Point Road). Total distance is 33.6 km from
Picton, so bring a coffee (and lunch) - you're a long way from a Tim Horton's !
 Washroom facilities will be provided.

Please ignore any previously published directions on where to meet. We will be
meeting along the side of the road just west of the sharp corner at the Point
Traverse Woods, less than a kilometre from the Prince Edward Point Bird
Observatory. My vehicle is a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee with NatureStuff logos
on the door and I will have a flashing amber light on the roof. If there are
any questions, please e-mail me before Sunday.
