On Saturday, despite inclement weather the Brereton Field Naturalists of
Barrie toured outskirts of the Minesing wetlands and found: 30 Horned Larks,
2 Snowies, 3 Roughleged Hawks, a Northern Shrike (just outside the village
of Minesing, first street on left) 5 Blue Jays after returning to Hwy 90,
turned north on Mckinnon to the farmhouse on the east side at he end and
found: 1 Hairy, 1 Downie, Tree Sparrows, House Sparrows, Goldfinches, a Red
Bellied Woodpecker, and lots of Junco's.

This morning I found one group of 10 Horned Larks on the top of the first
hill coming out east of Cookstown, and another group of about 25 on
Hwy.89just east of Yonge Street.
Come join us on our next field trip, Saturday March 29th, back to that same
area, for the last 6 years we have found Sandhill Cranes. Linda Crome
