It figures. Get as many birders out there as possible, set up a good
communication network, and the bird doesn't show! Lots of people on Goat
Island and across the river in Ontario looking for the Ross's Gull today
(Saturday), all to no avail. Although there was a rumor floating around
Goat Island that there was a post to Ontbirds today saying that the bird had
been seen Friday afternoon at the upstream parking lot (for the third time),
I see now that there was no such post. The bird has not been seen since
Friday morning at 10:00 - it was reported on the ice off the upstream end of
the island. Perhaps the rumor was caused by a misreading of what the post
actually said.

There were a decent number of uncommon gulls in the area including several
Iceland and Lesser BB Gulls, 2-3 Glaucous Gulls, Thayer's Gull, and Little
Gull, as well as the four expected species. The Harlequin Duck was also
seen above the falls.

Good birding!
