Hello,
Roger Clark and I visited Wolfe Island today; we spent over five hours touring only the western portion of the island. The temperature was 3 Celsius and mostly overcast with very little to no snow present. We were able to find 7 Snowy Owls, 29 Rough-legged Hawks, 4 Red-tailed Hawks; one was a Dark phase, 6 Northern Shrikes, 9 American Kestrels and 37 Tundra Swans. The swans were on the south east shore line off Kyle Road, two unidentified raptors, one coyote, one Red fox and next to no small birds. Cheers, Brian Young The ferry can be reached in downtown Kingston at the corner of Barrack and Ontario Street, passage is free, ferry leaves the mainland on the half hour in the morning and on the hour in the afternoon, leave the island on the hour in the morning and on the half hour in the afternoon. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
