Hello fellow birders This morning December 29, at noon, saw the Tufted Titmouse in Embrun. It took me about 30 min. before I located it. When found, it was feeding at the small feeder (the one lower off the ground behind the cedars bushes) located directly behind the tall feeders on the red poll.
I was there for approx. 1 hour and there was lots of activity at the feeders in the back yard. Other birds of interest also present included Common Redpoll (50), American Goldfinch (30), and Evening Grosbeak (5). Directions to Embrun (from Ottawa): Take Hwy 417 east to exit #79 and follow County Rd. #5 south to Route 500 West. Go east on Rte 500. Manitou is the 4th street on your right. The feeders at #103 are behind the house ---------------- Also, on my way to Embrum had a small flock of Snow Buntings and a Rough Legged Hawk on Milton Road. Direction to Milton Road (from Ottawa) Take Hwy 417 east and exit at Boundary Road (go North on Boundary), turn right (East) on Russell Road (Regional 26) and drive approx. 3.0 km to Milton Road (Regional 31).
