Two, possibly three, Northern Gannets continued to be seen as late as 4:30PM
today (Tuesday).
They fed together with a frenzy of gulls. I found it surprisingly difficult
to pick out the dark birds while they were on the slightly choppy water at a
distance. Fortunately, an adult Bald Eagle swooped into the mass of gulls
and caused enough havoc to put all the birds into the air.

Directions: To reach Van Wagners Beach, take the Centennial Parkway (Hwy.20)
exit from the QEW in east Hamilton and proceed north to the North Service
Rd., turn left and continue west as it turns into Van Wagners Road. Continue
to the parking lots at either Hutch's Restaurant or the Lakeland Centre
viewing tower and view the lake anywhere near here.
