Birders,
At my feeder on Chandos Lake (6 km east of Apsley which is 40 km south
of Bancroft) within the week a number of finches have turned up. I suspect
they will keep going since there is little feed for them here. A large flock
of Evening Grosbeaks turned up and yesterday I had Siskins and Redpoles. I
have Purple finches all summer but only a couple of females are left.
Goldfinches are numerous. The highlight was a pair of Pine Grosbeaks this
morning
(the bird on the 1000 dollar bill) I suspect they will turn up farther south.
