Must be a good day for sparrows today. I also found a NELSON'S
SHARP-TAILED SPARROW on the north side of the ponds on the KFN property on
Amherst Island. Eleven species of sparrows were observed including a LINCOLN'S
SPARROW and two LAPLAND LONGSPURS. Other birds noted were eight species of
shorebirds including 2 AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVERS, 1 MERLIN, several small flocks
of WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS and DARK-EYED JUNCOS, 1 NORTHERN PARULA, 1 WILSON'S
WARBLER and twelve species of common waterfowl.
