Total observation time: 9 hours

Weather:
Today saw increasing cloudiness throughout the day along with poor
visibility due to heavy haze and very high humidity. Winds were very light
overall mainly from the southwest becoming light southeast late in the day.

Raptor Observations:
Today’s movement was not much more than a trickle of activity throughout
the day, perhaps predictable given the conditions. A modest falcon flight
in the afternoon included several Merlins and a Peregrine, adding to a
solid start to the season for these two species.

Non-raptor Observations:
Hundreds if not thousands of Purple Martins migrated through the area
today, particularly during the first few hours of the count. Lesser numbers
of Barn, Bank and Northern Rough-wing were also noted. Hummingbirds
continued their steady pace of the last couple of days.
