Ontbirders

Numbers of migrant shorebirds continue to rise at Presqu'ile. This evening, I saw good numbers of Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers, Sanderlings (breeding and non-breeding plumage) and Lesser Yellowlegs. Also present were a Pectoral Sandpiper and a Semipalmated Plover. All birds so far have been adults and are foraging mainly from beach 4 south as far as Owen Point. Unfortunately, birders will find viewing at the latter spot impeded by tall grass growing about the stations. Hopefully, some trail maintenance is forthcoming.

Presqu'ile Provincial Park is located on a well-signed route south of Brighton.
