Hi Everyone
Birded a number of the eastern sewage lagoons on Sunday, July 8, 2007.
Overall there was little shorebird habitat but St. Isidore and Casselman had
a few shorebirds while High Falls Conservation Area near Casselman had the
highest concentration. Highlights included 1 ad. Semipalmated Plover and 1
adult Wilson's Phalarope at St. Isidore, 1 adult Semipalmated Sandpiper at
Casselman, 3 juv. Wilson's Phalaropes, 6 ad. Solitary Sandpiper, 1 ad.
Greater and ad. 22 Lesser Yellowlegs at High Falls. The Alfred Sewage
lagoon had a good variety of ducks including 100+ Ruddy Ducks (7 family
groups) and 8 Redhead (4 family groups). Both Sora and Virginia Rails were
heard calling. In a few hay fields just south of Alfred 150+ Bobolinks were
seen. If you require additional information, please email me privately.
Sorry about the late posting, computer problems!
good birding, Bruce
