I had a female Dickcissel today while participating in the Durham Spring
Round-up. It was located from the road but is on private property. The people
were not home so I could not ask for permission to enter the property. If you
decide to go, please stay on the roadway and watch the wires over the field on
the west [right] side of the road.

Directions: 401 to Salem Road in Ajax and go north to Taunton Rd then east to
County Rd 23, north to Cty Rd 21 and then east to the first road on your right.
This is Mast Road. The bird was seen just to the north of the house on the
wires at 13201 Mast Road.

Hello summer birders:
Both Lark Sparrows were seen ( Saturday AM) at Walsingham/Norfolk East
Quarter Line Road.
As well, Prairie Warbler was at the 'historical' location on the same road.

Many other nesting birds of interest were seen/heard.
Be prepared for biting mosquitoes in Wilson Tract and Backus Woods!!

Directions-
  LARK SPARROWs:-
South of SIMCOE or Port Dover on Hiway 24, one concession EAST of hiway 59(
Before getting to Hiway 59). The Two Lark Sparrows were almost at the NW corner
of Hiway 24 & EAST 1/4 line road. One kept singing from the top of a leguminous
tree ( Chinese tree of heaven or Ailanthus) on the  north side of Hiway 24
some 30 m past EAST Quarter Mile Road { NW corner}

Prairie Warbler
Take Hwy 24 south of Simcoe and continue west to the Walsingham/Norfolk  East
Quarter Line  Road, turn right (north) go some 1.5 Km to 1st (next)

All,

I went to Pelee Island on Saturday but had no luck.It seems the Snowy and
the other shorebirds that were with it(per.comm. Adam Pinch) had moved out
the night before. However I did score a adult Laughing Gull which made the
trip worth while as I am a Pelee Island Lister not a "Pelee" lister!

By the way - the Tip of fish point is about 3/4km long. Point Pelee has a
grain of sand.. or two.

Adam and myself were also surprized that no mainlander went to see the bird
during it's 4 day stay. as this is the 6th? record for Ontario.

Keep up the good work Adam!
