Hi all,

On Wednesday, May 9th between 6:30pm I found a Worm-eating Warbler at Lakeside
Park in Mississauga. The bird was in the woodlot immediately west from the
parking lot. I first located the bird on the ground at close range and then
viewed it many more times up high in the tallest trees feeding with Yellow
Warblers and Warbling Vireos. I last viewed the bird near to 8:00pm.

Also found in same woodlot where the creek and woodlot meet Lakeshore Road
there was a male Mourning Warbler at eye level. This bird was found at 7:30pm.

Lastly, other birds of note in the park included an Orchard Oriole and
Lincoln's Sparrow both observed during the same time period in the same woodlot
- but further south closer to Lake Ontario.

Lakeshore Road. The woodlot and creek is on the west side of the park.

I birded Lakeside Park briefly before work. I was looking for but did not find
the Worm-eating Warbler.

Birds were light but I got a brief look at a silent Brewster's Warbler (hybrid
Golden-winged x Blue-winged Warbler). It fairly high in a shade in the grassed
park near the swings.

We spotted a pair of Black & Whites yesterday.
We are using a very small camera in the bluebird box. It is amazing!
Worthwhile trying. Watching nesting and egg laying.

Bayfield is a pretty town between Grand Bend and Goderich, Hwy 21.
We are at 34962 Mill Road. Bayfield.

Last night (May 9) at around 7 pm I found a White
Pelican at the south end of Cook's Bay (Lake Simcoe).
It was swimming in the reeds near a small island.

Directions: from Newmarket follow Leslie St. north to
Ravenshoe Road. Turn left (west) on Ravenshoe past
the residential area and into the fields. Turn right
(north) on the first dike/road (unnamed and unmarked)
that you come to and follow it a short distance to the
lake. You can see the island/reeds directly offshore
about 0.5 km.

Warning: the dike road is fairly rough, you will want
a high clearance vehicle. If you are in a car proceed
very slowly and you won't bottom out too often.
