Hi Birders,
About 4pm today an adult plumaged Laughing Gull flew past Bronte Harbour(
south west Oakville). The bird was flying southwest toward Hamilton. The
waterfront anywhere at the west end of Lake Ontario would be the best bet to
relocate it.
Good Birding, Mark Jennings.

A bank safety deposit box key has been found at Beamer Conservation
Area in Grimsby. These can be very expensive to replace so I'm sure
ONTBIRDers will understand trying to help save a fellow birder some
cash with this post. The owner can contact me at the email address
below.

This afternoon (Monday) I located two ROSS'S GOOSE at the Alfred Sewage
Lagoons.
They were with 2,000 GREATER SNOW GOOSE (of these 153 were dark morphs).
Photo of distant Ross's Goose (2 in bottom left hand corner of photo) can be
seen here:
http://jacquesbouvier.blogspot.com
Among the 20 species of waterbirds were a dozen REDHEAD, 50 RUDDY DUCK and
several AMERICAN COOT..
DIRECTIONS: From the town of Alfred go east on Highway
17, then turn
south on Peat Moss Road and drive for 2 km. The lagoons are on your left
(east side of road). The birds are best observed from the viewing tower.
Access to the viewing tower is free and no permit is needed.
Entrance to the lagoons is prohibited unless in the possession of a valid
ANNUAL PERMIT. The permit can be purchased on week days from the Alfred town
office just beside the fire station. Arrangements can also be made to
receive the permit by fax by contacting Richard Villeneuve at (613)
679-2292.
