  Hi Folks,

After the morning's glum weather blew off raptors were on the move. In
our front yard in Arva we counted 27 broadwings in smalls groups of 2-
7 birds at a time between 1:30-2:00pm. A Juvenile Bald Eagle and a
Sharpie found there way in to view as well. By far the largest reward
for a little scanning was a single Common loon flying north-east over
our location. Birding a nice greenway along the Thames at the end of
Windemere Ave. by the ball fields, we hada half dozen Blue-gray
gnat-catchers were easily found, house wrens, towhees, waxwing,
ruby-crowned kinglets, an osprey, and 5-6 field sparrows some of which
are paired and exploring prospective nesting locations. No warblers
  sadly.

  Good Birding to all,

  Ethan Huner

On 4/28 I saw the eared grebe and an American Bittern at the Grimsby
Sewage Lagoons. The eared grebe was in the 1st cell, the American
bittern was flying over the 1st cell. Other birds included canvasback,
ruddy duck, greater scaup, bufflehead, horned grebe, northern shoveler,
blue wing teal.

Take QEW Niagara to Fifty Road, turn north towards the lake and take the
North Service road to Kelson Road, turn left. Take Kelson Road to the
first road and turn right. The sewage lagoons are on the left. You can
park at the large garage there on the west side. Please respect the no
trespassing signs posted at the north lagoon.

Good birding
