A Forster's Tern which appeared yesterday is still actively fishing
in Cobourg Harbour as of 10.30 am today [they usually leave after an
hour or so at the most]. Also still present is the Laughing Gull,
which is now considerably more active than earlier in its stay.

The harbour can be reached from Highway 401 by taking exit 474 [the
easternmost Cobourg exit] and driving south on Division Street, which
ends at the harbour.

The Marsh Monitoring Program Invites you to Attend a Training Session in the
London Area

Are you Wild about Wetlands?

We are seeking wetland aficionados to be trained as a volunteer surveyor to
monitor amphibians and/or marsh birds (prior experience not necessary) in a
local wetland for about 10 hours per year. MMP monitoring in the London area
has been ongoing since 1995 and there are existing routes that require new
surveyors. In addition, several wetlands in the London area and the Thames
River Watershed have been identified as currently unmonitored. We are
currently seeking MMP participants to monitor marshes in the following areas:
London, St. Thomas, Strathroy, St. Mary's, Kintore, Belmont, Delaware and
Shedden.

Anyone interested in participating can attend an upcoming Marsh Monitoring
Program -- Volunteer Orientation & Training Session Saturday, April 14, 2007;
9:00 - 3:00 pm; Western Ontario Fish and Game Hall Protection Association, 790
Southdale Road, London Ontario

Space is limited, so please register by Saturday April 14, 2007, or as soon as
possible by emailing Ellen Kempmann at Bird Studies Canada, [EMAIL PROTECTED],
or by calling 1-888-448-2473 ext. 222.

There is no charge to participate in the session and please bring your own
lunch. Field training will occur following the indoor component of the session
so dress appropriately for weather conditions.

Further details and directions to the Western Ontario Fish and Game Protection
Association will be provided following your registration.

More information about the Marsh Monitoring Program can be found at:
http://www.bsc-eoc.org/mmpmain.html. We look forward to your participation in
this fun and important program!
