Missing throughout our cold February, the Carolina Wren pair first
reported at 71 Alexander St., East Hill, B'ville, Christmas 2006,
continues to visit our compost, bird feeders, and nestboxes, with the
most recent sighting (photos captured) of both only two days ago.

Merlins are back at Alexander St. A pair bred successfully on
Alexander St. in 2005 fledging at least 3 young. All 5 family members
remained around 71 Alexander St throughout 3 weeks of that July eating
local birds on our neighbour's rooftops. In 2006 a Merlin pair was
commonly seen in the area, though we never found their nest.

Our first GB Heron was seen today on the Moira River at Station Street
in downtown B'ville, while Grackles settled in number in our backyard
just this Monday.
