The Ross's Goose was about 300m east of Gore Rd. along Concession Rd. A on
March 12th with a group of about 200 Canada's - no Cacklers. Fergus Nicoll
and I enjoyed the beauty from about 1730 to 1800.

From Highway 401 or Highway 3, come south
on Highway 59 to the north shore of Lake Erie. Concession A is the
second last right before going onto Long Point. BSC's National Headquarters
is situated at 115 Front St. in Port Rowan. From Highway 59 south,
turn east on Regional Rd 42 (Front St) and drive 400 metres to our
building on the south side of the road. LPBO's Old Cut Field Station
is on Old Cut Blvd. on Long Point, just
two streets before Highway 59 ends at Long Point Provincial Park. We are
the 6th building
on the right as you head north on Old Cut Blvd. from Highway 59.

I would like remind to everyone of our posting guidelines include advice
on what to report. The guidelines can be read at
http://www.ofo.ca/ontbirdsguide.htm
Reports should always be brief and to the point.
Report: rare vagrants, birds on the Ontario Review List, regional
rarities, unusual numbers or species mixes, and birds out of season or
in unusual locations. Please use standard, full species names. Examples:
* Significant shorebird, waterfowl or warbler concentrations.
* 'Good' birds, i.e. those that may be hard to find any time,
or are only seen by most of us on migration.
New Birders should check range maps in field guides before posting
sightings of species that are new to them. If the map says the species
should not be there, check with a more experienced birder before posting.
Except for rarities, birds visiting feeders should not be reported. Trip
reports, unless very concise, should not be posted to the list.
Please use discretion when reporting first-bird-of-the-season. A more
appropriate place to report F-o-S is eBird - http://ebird.ca Only report
extreme dates to Ontbirds. A sighting should be significant to the
majority of readers. If there is any question consult with other birders
before posting.
