Mary and I went to 'town' in Omemee to check out the Hooded Mergansers. On
Jan 29th there were 2 male and a female just below the Omemee dam. On Feb
5th there were just a pair. By Feb 27th the female was the only one left.
She was still there alone today.
As we looked for a male merganser we spotted two Trumpeter Swans. The
larger of the pair had the #902 tag.
Directions: Omemee is on Highway #7 between Lindsay and Peterborough. The
dam is very close to the highway. Look south as you drive over the bridge
in town.
