I visited Billings Bridge Park on the Rideau River today to photograph ducks. There is very little open water on the river now, but ducks tend to congregate here all winter long to receive handouts from obliging people. Amongst the hundreds of Mallards and American Black Ducks I spotted a single male Green-winged Teal and a single female Wood Duck.

Directions: From Highway 417, take the Riverside Drive exit (exit 117). Turn right at Riverside Drive and travel west for about 4 km, passing Bank Street and the Billings Bridge shopping mall. The entrance to the parking lot at the park is located at the traffic lights at Data Center Road - although it is closed during the winter, there is just enough room to park in front of the gate. Turn right at the set of lights to park here. Another option would be to turn left at Data Center Road and park at the shopping mall. The large concentration of ducks is visible from Riverside Drive.
