Hi Birders,

While looking for snowy owls in the Casselman - Ste-Rose area this morning
17 Feb, Tony Thatcher and I observed just after 11 AM a Song Sparrow
foraging on the ground. It was in front of the only house on the Ste-Rose
road, which is on the left just after turning left from Conc. 20 onto the
Ste-Rose Road. For the record, we only managed to sight (from Conc. 19 west
of the Ste-Rose Road looking south towards Conc. 20) one snowy sitting on
the ground.

In the general area there were several flocks, some quite large, of Snow
Buntings, at least one with Lapland Longspurs mixed in. There was also a
flock of 18 Horned Larks foraging on Desnoyers Road between Conc. 19 and Rte
3.

Ottawa, Ontario

Directions: Take highway 417 east from Ottawa past Casselman to exit 58
(exit for Cornwall). Turn left up County Road 8, then take the first right
onto Conc. 20. The Ste-Rose Road is the first left.
