I saw 3 lor 4 Cedar Waxwings last Saturday in a Mountain Ash tree on the corner of Park Avenue and Sandford in Newmarket. They were busily munching the berries so I went home and got my binoculars and got a clearer view, alongwith some goldfinches and chickadees. Isn't this too early for them? Hi Birders, While cruising around today, I came across a small flock of blackbirds on Sinclair Line north of Rondeau Park. Although mostly Red-winged and Starlings, I did find two, possibly three Brewer's Blackbirds. A pair (male and female) were alongside the road affording a nice view. The flock got up and flew various times, and I did see a male Brewer's by itself on the other side of the road. There have been various blackbird flocks around lately. I had one of about 600 (inc. Rusty BB) in south Lambton Co. last Sunday, and another smaller flock this morning east of Sombra. Check them out! Others have been seeing meadowlarks lately. I came across four (4) as well on Cochrane Line near Clear Creek Forest just after noon today in eastern Chatham-Kent.. The blackbirds were located along Sinclair Line, just under 1 km west of Kent Bridge Rd. (#15). Exit 401 at Kent Bridge Rd. and head south past Talbot Trail. Next road is Sinclair, heading westerly. The meadowlarks were about 1.5 km west on Cochrane Line which heads west from Duart Line. This is SE of Highgate (exit #117 on 401) in Chatham-Kent. Blake A.
