On my way back from school in Lindsay I saw one adult northern goshawk flying
low over Lindsay golf course and another from my backyard in Peterborough
heading west just over Parkhill and ForestHill along with the mentioned
rough-legged hawk flying east at Fowlers Corner. Not a bad raptor day
considering how cold it was this morning.

Good evening.

Today I decided to take a stroll through High Park along Sunnyside and =
over to Humber Bay Park and on such a beautiful day it was a pleasant =
stroll.

In High Park I found the Red-bellied Woodpecker along with 5 =
White-throated Sparrows at the corner of Spring Rd and Centre Rd
(Centre Rd runs east from the Grenadier Restaurant). You will get your =
years worth of Downy Woodpeckers here as well.

Sunnyside had the usual suspects but after crossing the footbridge at =
the mouth of the Humber River I found a Yellow-rumped Warbler. They seem =
to be everywhere this winter.

There are lots of waterfowl at Humber Bay Park, Coots, and lots of =
Shovelers but the nice find was the previously reported adult male =
Harlequin Duck off the north side of the eastern most point in Humber =
Bay Park East. The other one was also an adult male and I found it with =
a raft of Common Goldeneye 5 feet off shore at the north side of the =
western most point in Humber Bay Park West. If you go and try to find =
this one then approach the Goldeneye with caution as they are easily =
spooked and if they fly the Harlequin may go with them and be missed. I =
stood back and through a fence was able to get great looks at this bird.

There is also a Northern Shrike at Humber Bay Park for those =
interested.

Directions:-
HIGH PARK

High Park is located in the west end of Toronto and is bounded on the =
south by The Queensway, the north by Bloor Street and on the east by =
Parkside Drive.

To reach High Park you can take the TTC Subway to the High Park Station =
or the Queen Street Streetcar #501 to either the Parkside Drive or the =
Colborne Lodge Drive streetcar stops or you may drive in from High Park =
Avenue at the north end of the park.

HUMBER BAY PARK IN TORONTO=20

To get to Humber Bay Park from Queen & Yonge Streets. Take the Queen =
Street Car #501 west to Park Lawn Road, the park is across from the =
street car stop. Depending on which Queen Street street car you board =
you may or may not have to transfer from one car to another at the =
Humber Loop, but this is no big deal.

You can also take the 66D TTC bus from Old Mill subway station directly =
to the Humber Bay Park loop.

By automobile from downtown Toronto drive west on Lakeshore Blvd, cross =
the Humber River Bridge at Sunnyside and drive to Park Lawn Road (on the =
west side of Christie Biscuits), turn left (south) and your in Humber =
Bay East.

After exiting this area turn left (west) and drive to the entrance to =
Humber Bay West which immediately on your left as you cross the bridge.
