The 29th Annual Vankleek Hill CBC was held on December 17 under unusually
mild conditions (max. of 9 degrees C) with no snow on the ground and little
wind. A record 14,520 birds were found by 43 observers. Previous record was
10,235 birds in 1999. The 54 species observed is the highest after last
year's record of 55.
