Just before noon today, Jean & Blayne Farnan, Brian Ahara, an unknown Buffalo birder and I observed 2 Purple Sandpipers in the Niagara River just to the south of the stranded barge above the Falls. They remain on the same grass covered large rock in the river below and near some branches of a small bush in the middle of the rock, in exactly the same place where these birds have been observed over the past several weeks.
